span style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">The creative industry '€“ including the digital creative industry '€“ serves as Indonesia'€™s backbone for future growth. However, there is still room for improvement when it comes to talent, founders and digital ecosystem. These improvements need multi-stakeholder participation, commonly known as the quad-helix ABG-C (academia, business, government and community).

To facilitate this, Indonesian telecommunications company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. (Telkom) has pitched in to help the industry through its program for new entry startups, Indigo Incubator, as well as its Indigo Accelerator program for startup companies ready to expand their markets.

'€œThrough Indigo Incubator 2015, the chance for startups to grow into global companies is bigger with help from Telkom; [they can get] direct access to Telkom'€™s 150 million customers. They could also work with companies within Telkom Group and enter the global market through the Telkom Group International Office which is available in 10 countries,'€ said Indra Utoyo, innovation and strategic portfolio director at Telkom, during the kickoff of the program on Feb. 26 at the Loop Station, Jakarta.

Telkom believes in supporting the startup community as it is the backbone of the creative digital industry. Indra said that Telkom supports the startups to progress in their creative work, be it those still at the conceptual level, or a product that already has users, as well as those who have started making money out of a startup.

The chosen startups will receive seven months of incubation support and features like access to market, business and technical consultancies, as well as starting funds of Rp 250 million (US$19,330) with the chance of next-level funding in the Indigo Accelerator program '€” up to Rp 2 billion for products deemed as hot prospects.

Chosen startups will get working facilities from Telkom'€™s Digital Valley office branches in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Jakarta. They will also receive Telkom'€™s digital platform for features such as payment gateway, cloud service and big data.

After the kickoff event, Telkom will promote Indigo Incubator 2015 through road shows in cities like Bandung, Medan, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Malang, Makassar and Balikpapan, until April 2015.

Interested startups can register for the program at indigoincubator.com until March 31. Participants can choose from six product categories: city and government solutions; business solutions; home solutions; commerce; personal apps; and social media and the community.
