One of the reasons is, of course, that it provides better privacy, as living under one roof with the parents of one of the spouses can prove to be challenging for some. Yet, no matter how many criteria there are, a new couple can be more flexible in choosing a home. So to help those who are hunting for a home, here are six things to consider:
1. Location
Location is a big deal and each family has its own opinion in terms of opting for the location of a new home.
Generally, the location should not be far from important services, including clinics or hospitals, public facilities, shopping places and such. There should also be a good transportation system, available 24/7. Good facilities will not only make it easy for day-to-day mobility, but will also boost the value of the property.
Distance may not be an issue as long as the location has a good access to transportation and has at least two alternatives for you and your spouse to reach your places of work.

A new family should go for a minimalist type of home, as you may start with a moderate budget after all of the money you spent on the wedding. So you should put on hold your desire for a more luxurious type of dwelling.
If you and your spouse earn good incomes, however, looking for a suitable mortgage plan is advisable, as the salary rates usually decide the amount of installments. Looking for a minimalist type of home is usually not too difficult; many property developers employ the minimalist concept in the designs of many of their products.
3. Education Facilities
Make sure that the house you are vying for is close to educational facilities. Even though there are still only two of you, it’s advisable that you already have a plan for your children’s education in the future. Besides, a house located near educational facilities usually have a higher resale value.
4. Center of Activities
A location near a center of activities is also important because many new couples still like to spoil themselves. It will be better if such a facility is within walking distance or reachable by bicycle, for example. This arrangement promises a healthier and more cost efficient lifestyle, even when the couple already has children. The important thing to consider is to have an easy access to your places of work.
5. Environment
A low crime rate is a good point to consider for a new family, as this will help ease the minds of a new couple who usually leave their house empty all day long.
Also make sure there are security personnel guarding your housing compound and build a good relationship with them.
6. Public and Social Amenities
Public and social facilities are prepared by the developer for the residents to utilize within a residential complex. Make sure that the facilities are well tended and function well.
