Results of Gerakan 1000 showcased in Thousand Islands

erakan 1000, or Movement 1000, is an initiative to accelerate economic growth in the Jakarta regency of Kepulauan Seribu, or Thousand Islands.
Gerakan 1000 is a forum set up to synergize the working programs of the ministries/state agencies tasked with developing the region into a community-based tourist destination.
The movement also aims to give the region’s creative industry a competitive edge through the production of films by young people of the islands. Funds for film production are to be used for developing the economy and tourism in the region.
One and a half years after its launch on Pramuka Island in the regency on March 31, 2016, Gerakan 1000, which is part of the national mental revolution championed by the current government, recently exhibited works related to the movement.
A diverse range of activities was on display, including an exhibition of culinary products from MSMEs, a traditional dance performance and a boat parade. Gerakan 1000 has also given birth to the recently launched Cultural Tourism and Conservation Package, which incorporates the planting of mangrove trees and coral reefs as part of the CSR program of PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo).
Other activities include the launch of online sales of the Tourism Cultural and Conservation Package and souvenirs from the region via blibli.com and the ITX from the Tourism Ministry as well as the launch of a financial management application for MSMEs called Si Apik by Bank Indonesia.
Another interesting activity that is part of Gerakan 1000 is the official launch of the name tags for the production crew of the movie Elang - Impian 1000 Pulau by the mainland crew (Sineas Muda Indonesia), led by director Naphtali Ivan and producer Jennifer, to the island team, especially those on Kelapa Dua Island, led by line producer S. Solehah Sari.
The events took place on Sekaya Maritim Square on Kelapa Dua Island. There was also a photo exhibition showing Gerakan 1000 activities of the past one and a half years. The events were attended by the representatives and students of the London School of Public Relation (LSPR), which was also the marketing sponsor and PR for the Elang - Impian 1000 Pulaumovie, and representatives of Macan Island, which was also the sponsor of the Thousand Islands Ecotourism Scene.
