ndonesian life insurance company PT AIA Financial (AIA) recently invited children in Malang to participate in its "AIA Soccer for the Nation" program, which was held at Malang's Gajayana Stadium on July 26.
As part of the program, the company brought over two international development coaches from Tottenham Hotspur, Anton Blackwood and Shaun Harris, to assist with the coaching clinic.
In addition to the coaching clinic, AIA also donated 1,000 soccer balls to a number of soccer schools in Malang as part of its effort to donate 10,000 AIA soccer balls throughout the country. Ever since this program was launched in Jakarta in March with the help of AIA global brand ambassador David Beckham, the company has, with the support of courier service and logistics company PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE), already handed over 3,500 balls in Jakarta, Bandung, Ambon, Tulehu, Lampung and Malang.
"Through AIA Soccer for the Nation, we hope that children can develop their talent in soccer so that they can get the maximum benefit from sports. This program is also one of our efforts to inspire the public to live healthier, longer and better lives through active participation in sports, such as soccer," said Kathryn Paraná, AIA's head of brand and communication.
According to Blackwood, the children were very enthusiastic.
"I have participated in AIA football camps for more than a year and I think that Indonesian children have the highest levels of expertise. They have worked very hard and have true potential. We hope that they will apply the training and messages they have received so that they can develop themselves as soccer players and, most importantly, have a healthier and better life," Blackwood said.
JNE marketing vice president Eri Palgunadi said this program was in line with AIA's "Connecting to Happiness" tagline.
"With JNE's 6,000 network points across the archipelago, even in remote regions, we are ready to deliver happiness to children across Indonesia. We hope that this support can help the nation’s youth in the field of sports," Eri said.
