elkomsel, in collaboration with Facebook, has launched Facebook Mobile Center, a customer-engagement channel within the Facebook app.

Announcing the new partnership, Telkomsel's marketing director, Rachel Goh, said, "We are no longer just a connectivity company but one that has entered into several strategic partnerships with digital companies." She added, "Our strong collaboration with Facebook has enabled us to reach Indonesian users across demographics and to empower them to live, work and play in bold new ways.”

The new technology will allow Telkomsel users to purchase in-app sales and service experiences, such as data packs and loans, all from within the application, in addition to the myTelkomsel App. This is a part of #BukaSemuaPeluang, a new vision for the company that highlights new opportunities for the digital society in Indonesia.

Moreover, Telkomsel plans to leverage Facebook's Connectivity Analytics tools to identify and explore expansion opportunities for the company's 5G network that will be most beneficial for users in Indonesia. The social media giant has also been instrumental in helping Telkomsel reach a wider audience, by help choose the right digital marketing approach and ads solutions.

This partnership is the latest approach by Telkomsel to connect more of Indonesia to the digital society. Telkomsel has also launched Kuncie, a new educational platform aimed at connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with mentors, such as from Facebook, local tech start-ups and venture capital.

In the past five years, more than 200 million Indonesians have gained access to the internet, accelerated by the pandemic that made incorporating technology essential in their daily routine. It is predicted that by 2025, the digital economy in Indonesia will have reached $124 billion, up from $44 billion in 2020.

"Facebook is here in Indonesia to support Indonesian communities and businesses to amplify the power of digital technology," Facebook's Pieter Lydian said as Country Director for Indonesia. He continued, " With more people enjoying seamless digital experience, we are happy to support Telkomsel’s efforts to further enable digital transformation in Indonesia through digitizing customer engagement channels, while at the same time continuing to help upskill aspiring entrepreneurs’ digital skills.”
