IPB students break 'most 3D people formation' world record

New students of Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB) named angkatan 55 (generation 55) have broken the world record for "Most 3D People Formation" category issued by Record Holders Republic on Saturday.

The activity, which involved 3,456 students and 55 formations with the fastest done in two minutes and 56 seconds, was conducted during the familiarization period for new students held at the institute's gymnasium field in Bogor, West Java.

IPB rector Arif Satria said he was proud of all the new students involved in the event. "Today we have successfully broken the world record thanks to [Student Executive Bodies] BEM IPB and all the new students of angkatan 55," he said.

Arif said the 3D formation world record involving thousands of new students was the second of its kind in the world -- the first record was held by China. (kes)
