Sports and Art Week ends

DENPASAR: The Sports and Art Week for Students at the Ngurah Rai Stadium was closed in a ceremony led by Deputy Mayor IGN Jayanegara.

Denpasar’s Sport, Youth and Education Agency head, IGN Eddy Mulya, said that the annual event was held with the aim of developing a habit of fairness and encouraging the spirit of arts and sports from an early stage.

In the sports competition, first place was taken by state SMP 1 in the junior high school category, state SMA 1 for senior high schools and West Denpasar sub-district for elementary schools. For arts, the first place in respective categories was for SMP 1, SMA 3 and East Denpasar.

The champions will compete for Denpasar in the same event next June.

“Last year, Denpasar was the champion. We expect to keep this achievement,” Mulsa added.
