DENPASAR: Bali students are invited to study in France, French Ambassador to Indonesia Bertrand Lortholary said during a recent visit to Bali.

Lortholary said the study would be made possible under an ongoing cooperation between Udayana University in Bali and Universite d’Angers in Angers, which is not far from Paris. “We now have up to 1,000 Indonesian students in France. We still want more,” he said.

Lortholary explained there were more than 400 training centers in France providing studies in English. “So, even for students who don’t speak French, there are still plenty of options to go to France and study in English, and then obviously to learn more about French culture and the French language,” he said. Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika warmly welcomed the French ambassador’s invitation. “They can learn many things from France, then implement them here to help develop Bali,” Pastika said.
