Campaign banners confiscate
BULELENG: Candidates running in the upcoming regent election in Buleleng have indiscriminately placed their campaign banners, flags and stickers with no regard for a bylaw banning such acts, an official says.
Wayan Susilo of the Buleleng regent election supervisory body said Monday that hundreds of such banners, flags and stickers had been confiscated on Thursday and Monday as they were not displayed in appropriate places.
“They were confiscated in several strategic locations,” Wayan told Bali Daily.
In line with an earlier agreement, campaign materials could be tied to trees, but not nailed, he said.
In reality, however, they were not only nailed on trees, but also on electricity and telephone poles and other public facilities, thereby affecting the beauty of the city.
