Benoa Harbor management gets award
Benoa: The state-owned port management company PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III at Benoa received an occupational health and safety award from the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration for the implementation of high safety standards for its workers. Iwan Sabatini, the general manager of the company, told reporters on Thursday that he was proud and grateful to receive the award.
“We place the health and safety of our employees as our top priority.” Benoa harbor is one of Indonesia’s ports currently undergoing renovations to improve its standards and services as the island’s major port and cruise harbor.
In 2012, Benoa harbor is expecting to welcome 40 large-scale luxury cruise liners bringing at least 60,000 tourists from around the world.
