Green School gets award
Badung: The Center for Green Schools at the US Green Building Council (USGBC) has given Bali-based Green School the 2012 Greenest School on Earth award.
The Green Building Council is the organization that offers the LEED accreditation for environmentally friendly buildings.
The award was presented by Rachel Gutter from the Green Building Council on April 20 during the school’s Earth Day Assembly.
Green School managing director Chris Thompson noted that, “While we’ve a great deal of attention and acclaim from around the world in our nearly four years of operation, this is really a singular honor. We are so thrilled to receive this award.”
At the ceremony, Rachel announced that the Center for Green Schools and the USGBC would also be sponsoring the education of one of the school’s Balinese scholars for the 2012-2013 academic year.
