99.9 percent of Bali students pass the exam
Denpasar: As many as 99.9 percent of a total 25,198 senior high school (SMA) students throughout the island have passed the national examination, a senior government official said Friday.
The results of the national examination, held in the middle of April for high school and vocational schools, will be officially announced today (Saturday).
“We will submit the results to each school across Bali,” said Anak Agung Ngurah Gede Sujaya, head of Bali Education, Youth and Sports office.
Sujaya said that the island’s graduation rate for high schools in 2012 had dropped from 99.96 percent last year.
“The unfortunate students mostly failed in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. We will soon evaluate the cause of this failure,” he said.
Meanwhile, around 99.95 percent of 20,286 students from vocational schools also passed the examination.
