Provincial govt plans cartoon museum
DENPASAR:The Bali provincial government plans to build a cartoon museum. The plan is related to a suggestion from Balinese cartoonists, who would like such a museum.
Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said that it was important to build a cartoon museum, because cartoons were not only a media of social control, but also a form of entertainment through the humor they demonstrated. In addition, sociologically and anthropologically, cartoons illustrated cultural developments of Balinese life.
“Because cartoons illustrate social developments occurring in the community over the years, and I think it would be good to see the chronological journey of our community in a smart but humorous way,” said the governor.
