Surfboard action for beach clean-up program
Kuta: Quiksilver will open the bidding on exact replica surfboards from five of Quiksilver’s greatest surfing legends, Mark Richards, Tom Carroll, Martin Potter, Matt Hoy and Jake Paterson, in their ongoing efforts to raise money to help clean up Bali’s beaches.
The auction will take place at Nirwana Golf Resort on Friday at 6 p.m.
This is a once-in-a-life time opportunity to own a piece of history, with the money going toward the ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts by Quiksilver and Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia to create a cleaner and healthier Bali for everyone to enjoy.
Up for auction are five legendary and game-changing exact replica surfboards that have been hand-made and personally signed, along with a signed canvas image, each of which has a short story written about the surfer and the surfboard by Vaughan Blakey, the editor of Surfing World in Australia.
Each of these replica surfboards is essentially a piece of history, something that every surfer or surfboard collector would be very lucky to bring home and hang up as a centerpiece. And knowing that the money received from the sale of the boards goes towards keeping Bali’s beaches and ocean clean, makes for an even more compelling reason.
