‘Mudik’ preparations at Gilimanuk inspected
Negara: Bali Police chief Ins. Gen. Budi Gunawan inspected on Wednesday preparations for the upcoming annual exodus, locally known as mudik, at Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana regency.
Budi said that the main task of the Jembrana Police would be to secure the route to and from Gilimanuk.
“Jembrana is a strategic area because it is the gateway to and from Bali,” said Budi as quoted by Antara news agency on Wednesday.
It is estimated that similar to last year, the fourth day prior to Idul Fitri until the third day after the holiday will see the exodus’ highest level of mobility.
Jembrana Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Komang Sandi Arsana said that to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the exodus, road separators would be installed from the entrance to Gilimanuk Port to the Cekik intersection.
