Denpasar: Three Chinese professors from the GuangXi Art Institute paid a visit last week to the Denpasar Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) to explore possible teaching cooperation between the two institutions.

The three professors were president of Guangxi Art Institute China, Prof. Chen Kun Peng, Prof. Yang Xiu Zhao and Prof. Chu Zhuo. They met and discussed the possible cooperation with ISI rector, Prof. Dr I Wayan Rai S.MA.

ISI spokesperson Nyoman Dewi Pebriyani said that it was the second visit made by top professors from the art academy. The first one had been made in late 2010, she disclosed as quoted by Antara news agency.

Prof. Chen Kun Peng told his counterpart, Prof. Wayan Rai, that the Chinese and Balinese cultures had many things in common.

“There are strong ties between the Chinese and Balinese arts, including a Chinese folk dance, which is well preserved in Bali,” Pebriyani quoted the Chinese professor as saying.
