Denpasar: The Karangasem regency has only 26 tanks of clean water to face the ongoing drought.

“Since June we have distributed 200 tanks of clean water of the 226 tanks allocated by the regency budget allocation,” head of social agency in Karangasem I Made Sosiawan said as quoted by Antara on Wednesday.

The 200 tanks were distributed in several districts including Abang, Karangasem, and Bebandem.

“We have proposed 94 more tanks of clean water in the regency’s revised budget allocation,” said Sosiawan.

Clean water distribution efforts in villages such as Basang Siap, Seraya Timur, Pidpid, Pempatan Rendang, Pangleg Kubu, and Bebandem are also performed by a number of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs from Bank Mandiri and soft-drink company PT Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia.
