Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison prepares Mandalika local community for 2022 MotoGP series

Indonesia's most popular digital telecommunications provider Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is launching a sustainable community empowerment program in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone in Kuta village, Central Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

ndonesia's most popular digital telecommunications provider Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is launching a sustainable community empowerment program in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone in Kuta village, Central Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The program aims to support local entrepreneurs in keeping up with the area's rapid development as a Super-Priority Destination and host of the 2022 MotoGP series.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison offers capital assistance to the local community and their MSMEs through its digital loan platforms, specifically UCan (in collaboration with QNB Indonesia and Bima Kredit (in partnership with Maucash). In addition, the six-month program also provides digital and financial literacy training, covering topics such as leveraging digital loans effectively.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison also commits to improving network services in preparation for the 2022 MotoGP Series events in Mandalika. The company promises a data service capacity of up to 1.5 Gbps and optimizing existing sites, including through a multi-operator core network (MOCN) to operate the MBTS unit.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison unveiled the program on March 11, with attendees including West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkieflimansyah, Regional Secretary of Central Lombok Regency, Lalu Pathul Bahri, digital economy director at the Communications and Information Ministry’s Informatics Applications Directorate General I Nyoman Adhiarna and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison director and chief regulatory officer Muhammad Buldansyah.

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison director and chief regulatory officer Muhammad Buldansyah said Mandalika had much to prepare for an international event as prestigious as the 2022 MotoGP series. The foundation of its success, he continued, lay in infrastructure readiness, including communication networks and the local community.

I Nyoman Adhiarna applauded Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's efforts in upgrading the telecommunications network in Mandalika.

"We hope the community can utilize the telecommunications network optimization in the region to boost their businesses and the tourism sector for the post-COVID economic recovery and to contribute to supporting the development of Indonesia's digital economy. What Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has done by increasing its bandwidth capacity and BTS readiness to accommodate the data demand is expected to realize said expectations," he said.

Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Zulkieflimansyah, also welcomed the telco's empowerment program.  "Development isn't limited to a commodity center approach, indicated only by number. Instead, development should focus on economic growth marked by change, and it's a tremendous process to upgrade the surrounding communities," he added.

"In the name of the Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara and the Regional Government of the Central Lombok Regency, I thank Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. We hope that our community finds the program a much-needed help for their betterment," Zulkieflimansyah concluded.
