Tiga Puluh Sold Out

Tiga Puluh Sold Out

Tiga Puluh music bar and lounge at Le Meridien will have its visitors jumping like maniacs on death row for the next four months, as the new band’s act is just impressive.

Starting their first day on May 11, the Montreal-based Sold Out is a seven piece band of multitalented musicians and true entertainers. With covers ranging from Elvis’ Jail House Rock to Black Eyed Peas’ My Humps, the band consists of Melisa Lemaire, Frederic Poirier, Mylene, Tino, Francois, Mathieu and Patrice.

“Our fist gig here was great. We haven’t had a chance to go around Jakarta yet, but we’ve heard a lot about the city and we’re excited to be here,” said Tino.

Having played at big hotels in Canada, Morocco, Hong Kong, South Korea, Oman and Bangkok, the band was hired in line with the vision of Tiga Puluh’s new management.

“We wanted to redefine the things we were once known for, rephrasing the 1930s trademark decorations and change the people’s point of view of the pub with better management and theme parties,” said Dwi Hartanto, the new manager.

It’s certainly an effort worth supporting. Yet, to be frank, all they need is more stage lights.
