Ford Motor Indonesia and Australia Zoo are handing over two Ford Ranger double cab pickups to Fauna and Fauna International (FFI) as part of their corporate social responsibility programs in Indonesia.

Dedicating all efforts to conserve the wide biological variety available on the island of Sumatra since 1998, FFI has cooperated with different nature conservation organizations, regional governments, cultural institutions and locals. FFI’s Tiger Conservation and Protection Units (TPCU) program was considered quite successful in Southeast Asia, protecting the remaining 300 to 400 Sumatran Tigers worldwide.

“Fauna and Flora International covers a very wide and diverse area throughout Sumatra, in which strong vehicles would be very helpful,” said Will Angove, president of Ford Motor Indonesia. The company has lent two cars to the organization before and said that giving them the cars would be “the next best thing to do”.

Australia Zoo, the pride of the late Steve Irwin “Crocodile Hunter”, has also done its part in protecting the world’s endangered animals. The zoo has cooperated with FFI in conserving the number of Sumatran tigers in the Kerinci Seblat National Park
