Sharpening its position as a CDMA-based telecommunication provider in Indonesia, Smartfren has recently launched Smartfren Connex, a new Internet service package, replacing Smart broadband & Mobi.
Users can choose between three service packages: True Unlimited, Volume Based or Postpaid Unlimited with a daily, weekly or monthly subscription period.
For True Unlimited package, users can enjoy an unlimited Internet connection with a speed up to 384 Kbps for Rp 90,000 (US$ 10) for a 30-day active period, Rp 30,000 for a week and Rp 5,000 for one day. For Volume Based package Smartfren offers various quotas, starting from Rp 1,000 per day for 20 MB quota to Rp 150,000 for 12 GB per month, with a speed up to 3.1 Mbps.
Smartfren division head Hermansyah said that the Internet quota with a volume of 12 GB is the largest quota to be offered to customers today, with an EVDO technology at par with 3.5G.
For postpaid users Smartfren also offers three packages: Super Basic, Super Advance and Super Pro. The Super Pro package is offered at Rp 275,000 per month with a download speed up to 9.3 Mbps and upload speed of 5.4 Mbps, with a 2.5-GB-per-day Fair Usage Policy.
At the same time, Smartfren is also releasing a new USB CDMA Modem for students at the accessible price of Rp 299,000, with 30 days free Internet usage. This Super Dongle Modem supports data service at 800/1900 MHz EVDO Rev.A frequency and is compatible with PC, MAC OS, and various platforms such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, and MAC OS X 10.5.
