The holiday season is about to kick off. There’ll be school holidays from June until early August, and Idul Fitri falls right in the middle.

For families wishing to spend their holidays road-tripping between cities, we have curated six family cars set to be released this year.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class

For those wealthy enough to buy luxury cars, the V-Class by Mercedes-Benz offers an interesting option.

Sold at Rp 1,299,000,000 (US$97,596), this car features a diesel engine and is equipped with Intelligent Drive featuring a 360-degree camera that gives the driver an all-round view of the area around the car during parking and maneuvering. The Collision Prevention Assist system produces an audible and visual alarm to warn the driver of a possible collision.

Toyota Sienta

Said to be one of the most anticipated cars at this year's Indonesia International Motor Show, this mini MPV comes with sliding doors and seats seven people.

Considered to be Toyota’s answer to the Honda Freed, the car is locally manufactured in Karawang, West Java, and will be launched in July in four different types: E, G, V and Q.

Toyota Innova Q-Type

Dubbed the most popular family car in Indonesia, this Q version only has six seats instead of the usual seven, in a 2-2-2 arrangement. The middle row seats have their own armrests and cabin trays with an eight-inch touchscreen to keep the kids quiet on a long trip.

Looking at the specifications, the Q-type certainly represents an upgrade from previous versions.

The design will adopt a sporty look with sharp lines and a chrome-coated grille.
