Swedish national soccer team captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has announced his retirement from international duty. A moment of farewell with his yellow jersey was captured on the new Volvo V90 campaign.

wedish national soccer team captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has announced his retirement from international duty. A moment of farewell with his yellow jersey was captured on the new Volvo V90 campaign titled Epilogue.

“Making this film was of course emotional, but the time has come for me to hang up my shirt and hand it over to the next generation,” said Ibrahimovic. In the film, footage of him was taken after he participated in a match, followed by a road trip with his family. “For me it is all about looking forward, not back. A new journey is starting,” he added.

This is actually the athlete's second commercial with Volvo. Released in May, his first film with Volvo, Prologue, showed the beginning of Ibrahimovic's story. Following the success of the first campaign, Epilogue includes the work of Academy-Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic started his soccer career at Swedish club side Malmo FF in the late 1990s. He later joined prominent clubs such as Ajax, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. He is reportedly in the process of signing with Manchester United after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain formally ended. (kes)
