Disney has announced its first Marvel-themed attraction that will be based on "Guardians of the Galaxy".
The opening of the new attraction at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, is set to coincide with the release of the movie's sequel on the big screen.
“It's the first in what is going to become a whole new universe in Disney California Adventure,” said Joe Rohoe, veteran executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, in a video.

It is set in a warehouse-type fortress owned by the mysterious Collector, Tanaleer Tivan, who has imprisoned the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the attraction Rocket Raccoon has escaped and is enlisting the help of guests to free the Guardians trapped in glass cases.
Expected to open summer 2017, visitors will also have the possibility to go to Tivan’s museum of artifacts. (tif/kes)
