G

oogle is introducing yet another piece of artificial intelligence (AI), this time for those who maybe aren’t artistically inclined, but who still need a drawing in a pinch.

AutoDraw works in a similar way to another of Google’s AI features, QuickDraw, a game in which users try to draw an assigned object in the hope it manages to guess it within 20 seconds.

Still, AutoDraw is a little more straightforward than that. Users draw what they need, like a cake or a cat, and it will try to figure out what is being drawn before matching it with the professionally done drawings in its database. If it finds matches, it will list them on the top of the screen, and if users like them, they can use those instead.

If you don’t need AutoDraw to suggest already done drawings to you, you can just use the software to doodle.

As a video from Google explains, instead of downloading an app or buying design software for something basic like a flyer or an invitation, AutoDraw’s website can be utilized for free from phones, computers and tablets.

Artists who are interested in this initiative can also contribute their work to the project. (sul/kes)
