The scene in question involved Cruise jumping between two building with the help of a safety harness attached to his body. The footage that was caught by TMZ showed Cruise mistiming his jump and crashing into the second building, which caused him to injure his foot. The actor was seen being able to pull himself out, but limped and collapsed next to the film crew.

At this moment it is not known yet as to how bad the injury is. So far there have been no reports as to whether or not he has received hospital treatment, and whether or not he will be able to continue shooting the movie, as reported by The Guardian.

Tom Cruise is a rarity in Hollywood in that he does his own stunts. In the Mission: Impossible movies alone he has scaled the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa in Dubai and attached himself to an Airbus 400 as it took off.

Mission: Impossible 6 is set to be released in cinemas in July 2018. The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously worked with Cruise on Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation and the first installment in the Jack Reacher series. (ken/kes)
