anadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes is set to perform at the first reboot episode of MTV renowned series, “Unplugged’. Dubbed as “MTV Unplugged Shawn Mendes”, the show will be broadcasted on the beginning of fall, Sept. 8.
According to Variety, since it first aired in 1989 and cancelled in 2009, “MTV Unplugged” has featured celebrated musicians who perform acoustic versions of their music such as Nirvana and Adele.
Shawn Mendes is excited about the show, "I feel like if I can do this right, then it will be a moment for me - where people can really understand and see me as a musician and a singer, and where I'm coming from," he said.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the series will take place in different locations that give certain meanings to the musicians. “MTV Unplugged” is also set to revive the memories of people who had watched the series before and, at the same time, also introduce the show to the younger generation.
Mendes himself will visit his fans in many countries, among them are Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Mexico and Japan, for his “Illuminate World Tour” starting from Aug. 22 to Dec. 18. (wir/asw)
