ctress Marsha Timothy has been nominated for Best Actress at the 12th Asian Film Awards for her title role in Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts.
Marsha will compete against Japan's Aoi Yu (Birds without Names), Taiwan's Sylvia Chang (Love Education), China's Zhou Dongyu (This is not What I Expected) and South Korea's Kim Min-hee (The Day After).
“I feel honored to be [one of] the nominees for this award alongside other Asian talents,” Marsha told Antara news agency.

Directed by Mouly Surya, Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts was recognized in other categories as well, such as Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Sound.
Founded in 2007, the Asian Film Awards is organized by the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFAA). This year’s judges will be led by veteran Hong Kong action choreographer and director Ching Siu-tung.
The award ceremony will take place in Macau on March 17. (wir/kes)
