ola Amaria's film on the Pancasila aims to encourage the public and younger generations to carry out the values it promotes, according to the director.

"The […] Pancasila is not to be memorized, but Pancasila should be used in everyday life, with those who are close to us, our family and in our workplace," Lola said in a statement on Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.

The 40-year-old is collaborating with four other directors on the film Lima (Five). Each tells a story centering around one of the five pillars of the Pancasila, referred to as sila.

"The Lima project is one film that is directed by five directors with five stories. We are saying that like the Pancasila, the film is made up of five parts to create a whole," Lola said.

The four directors involved include Shalahuddin Siregar, Tika Pramesti, Havan Agustriansyah and Adriyanti Dewanto.

"Shalahuddin is in charge of the first sila, Tika the second sila and I will do the third. Harvan is doing the fourth sila and Adriyanti the fifth. We began [production] in October 2017," Lola said.

Lima tells the story of a family comprising three children and one maid. The three children argue about the death of their mother, whose religion differs from theirs.

The movie, which is scheduled for theatrical release on June 1, stars Prisia Nasution, Yoga Pratama and several newcomers. (liz/kes)
