ver-the-top (OTT) video service Viu officially launched on Thursday its Viu Pitching Forum, an annual event that aims to facilitate and develop series projects that Indonesian series makers pitch to film experts.

Aspiring filmmakers must submit their ideas by April 15 via Dramabanget.com.

In the meantime, the Viu Pitching Forum will go on a five-stop roadshow to Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Makassar.

Ten participants will be selected to join a five-day mentorship program from April 23 to April 29 in Anyer, Banten, to hone their filmmaking skills under the guidance of several film experts: scriptwriter Andri Chung, editor Aline Jusria, director and producer Sammaria Simanjutak and director Lasja Susatyo.

Following the mentorship program, the participants will be required to present their ideas in front of judges Nia Dinata, Lucky Kuswandi, Lasja Susatyo, Melissa Karim and Myra Suraryo.

Actress Melissa Karim said during Thursday's press conference that she was looking forward to hearing fresh and original ideas through the Viu Pitching Forum.

Meanwhile, Viu Indonesia's head of marketing and AdSales, Myra Suraryo, said the company was committed to bringing local films to the world through the platform. She added that the platform made it easier for Indonesian filmmakers to enter the global market, as Viu was available in 17 countries. (kes)
