The cancellation of 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' by Fox has resulted in an outpouring of support from critics, stars and fans of the show, with a possibility that other outlets will pick it up for a new season.
After five seasons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine the series has been canceled by Fox.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that the cop comedy from executive producers Dan Goor and Mike Schur would not return for a sixth season.
The show stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Chelsea Peretti, Melissa Fumero and Stephanie Beatriz, among others. Set in the Brooklyn precinct, they deal with everyday crime and investigations. Co-creators Goor and Mike Schur were behind NBC’s Parks and Recreation, also known for its quirky but universal humor.
GQ said that ”the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine sings in just about every mode of funny, pivoting from slapstick goofery to witty barbs and smart character-based gags effortlessly”.
It has been praised for its diverse cast as well as sensitivity and inclusivity toward racial and sexuality topics. For instance, season five introduced a well-known character discovering that she is bisexual. The precinct is led by Braugher, who plays a gay African-American captain, while two of the lead detectives are Latin American females.
Deadline reported that Hulu, Netflix, TBS and NBC have shown interest to welcome the show to their outlets.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine dealt with homophobia in the police force and in general, bisexuality, biphobia, racial profiling, has a diverse cast of people who don't play into stereotypes, and so much more.
