pon hitting 30, women usually focus on career, marriage, family, pregnancy and children. They may be unaware of health problems lurking somewhere inside their bodies.

Failing to have a general check-up or ignoring symptoms could lead to more difficulties in treating illnesses in the future. Our body is designed to signal us when an illness occurs. And we are responsible for taking any measures to respond to this signal.

In order for women to be aware of common illnesses that usually lurk in the thirties, Antara compiled a few symptoms below:

Lump in breasts or change of breasts’ skin texture

Women of all ages could suffer from breast cancer, but the disease is more likely to hit those who are aging. The risk of breast cancer increases as a woman gets older. Notice every change in the breasts. If there are lumps, sudden changes in the skin texture or nipples, women should be on alert. Earlier detection increases the chances of successful medical treatment.

Lower possibility for pregnancy

A study says that a woman’s chance to become pregnant starts to diminish as soon as she hits her mid-30s. Lower fertility rate is often linked to ovulation that becomes less frequent, cervical liquids that starts lacking, bad quality eggs and chronic health problems. Moreover, hormone imbalances, tumors and cists may also be the culprits.

Hair loss

Thinning hair is a problem that a woman should be aware of when she hits 30. Losing 50 to 100 hairs per day is common, but extreme hair loss caused by follicles that no longer grow signals a serious problem.

Stress and childbirth are among the main reasons for severe hair loss. One out of four women experiences thinning hair and 95 percent of them suffer from alopecia androgenetic.

Thinning hair itself is often caused by the lack of vital nutrition for the body. Technically, a lack of iron can also cause severe hair thinning. So too are a lack of vitamin D and hormone imbalance.

High blood pressure

Excessive weight, oral contraception or hormone therapy can raise a woman’s blood pressure. Certain diet pills and anti-depressants also have a similar effect. A woman with high blood pressure could suffer from complications during pregnancy, thus requiring close supervision.

High salt intake at the age of 30 and above is also closely linked to increasing blood pressure. And so are stress combined with a sedentary lifestyle. Work that requires hours of sitting down can lead to high blood pressure.

Hypertension, if not taken care of, is harmful to the kidneys. According to heart.org, it can cause arteries around the kidneys to narrow, weaken or harden. These damaged arteries are not able to deliver enough blood to the kidney tissue, and it may disturb the kidneys’ blood filter function.

Fatigue

Women in their thirties need to be aware of extreme exhaustion. If this is the case, it is best to consult a doctor. Medical News Today writes that some causes of fatigue include anemia, thyroid conditions, diabetes, lung and heart disease and having recently given birth. The sooner a woman finds out what causes her exhaustion, the more likely it can be treated. (mut)
