Indonesian illustrator Dinda Puspitasari launched a series of visual arts books on Thursday.

Each book is priced at Rp 95,000 (US$6.40) and features 44 colorful illustrated patterns.

Dinda said during a media gathering at Brood-en-Boter restaurant in South Jakarta that the books were not only a feast for the eyes, explaining that the patterns could be used for DIY projects, such as collages, envelopes, stationery and greeting cards.

Dinda also said the binding was designed to allow art lovers to easily tear out and lay out the pages.

“The books can be used [as a property] for flat lay photos,” added Dinda.

Dinda is no stranger to publishing books. Prior to this, the illustrator had published #88LOVELIFE series, in collaboration with fashion blogger/entrepreneur Diana Rikasari.

However, Dinda Puspitasari’s World of Pattern is her first series of visual art books.

“I love visual arts books and wanted to participate in the [book] market, sharing what I love,” she said.

In conjunction with the book launching, Dinda is currently hosting several events until Sunday at Brood-en-Boter restaurant.

On Friday, Dinda is set to host DIY Part Decoration workshop, teaching art lovers how to create decorations using Dinda Puspitasari’s World of Patterns books.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the illustrator will host a fashion drawing workshop. (kes)
