Art Bali presents contemporary local works to IMF-World Bank Meetings delegates

In conjunction with the 2018 IMF-World Bank conference running until Sunday, Bali is also hosting the Art Bali exhibition at the AB • BC (Art Bali • Bali Collection) building in Nusa Dua until Nov. 9.

Pameran seni rupa kontemporer Art Bali, segera dibuka di gedung Art Bali • Bali Collection (AB • BC) di Bali Collection, ITDC Nusa Dua, Bali. . The opening of Art Bali 2018 contemporary art exhibition "Beyond the Myths" will also mark the inauguration of this 1000 m2 building on 9 October, 2018. . Not only the indoor space, the outdoor space as well is an area designed for various activities from art, cultural, and other creative industries, where during Art Bali 2018 it becomes a stage for installation works, sculptures and new media art. Themed "Beyond the Myths", the international contemporary art exhibition features 39 artists from various backgrounds, art disciplines as well as generations, such as I Made Wianta, Eko Nugroho, Entang Wiharso, Heri Dono and Mella Jaarsma, affording participants of the IMF-World Bank Meetings a glimpse into the country’s diverse contemporary arts.

“These artists were selected based on the artistic practices, workmanship and their contributions in triggering the dynamics of contemporary visual art in Indonesia and internationally,” Ignatia Nilu, one of the curators, said in a press release.

The exhibition presents various types of artwork, including installations, paintings, interactive works, video art and photography.

Art Bali CEO and founder Heri Pemad said, “Through Art Bali, we intend to demonstrate our commitment to building and developing the ecosystem of art and culture, particularly in Bali. As a new artistic space, the Art Bali exhibition aims to make art enjoyable for people from various backgrounds.” (jes/wng)
