A 48-year-old Saidi is not your typical motorcycle taxi (ojek) driver. The resident of Kedoya Selatan in West Jakarta knew by heart every turn, corner and alley across the city.
As competition among ojek drivers is getting fiercer with new drivers plying their trade, Saidi realized that he had to “go mobile” in order to better meet the needs of customers.
And so Saidi resorted to printing pamphlets and posters bearing his name and cell phone number. His bright idea has made him stand out among other ojek drivers in the area. Amahl S. Azwar has the story.
