JAKARTA: The government, U.S Embassy and several local and foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) launched here on Thursday a campaign against the trafficking of women and children by distributing hundreds of thousands of comics as well as millions of leaflets across the country.

More than 90,000 comic books, 180,000 comic strips and four million leaflets will be distributed, especially in provinces prone to trafficking, including Central Java, West Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, West Kalimantan, and North Sumatra.

Among the NGOs are the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC), the American Center for International Labor Solidarity (ACILS), and International Relief and Development (IRD). --JP
