Police officers reshuffled

JAKARTA: The National Police announced on Thursday a reshuffle affecting seven generals, including 15 being investigated in connection to questionable bank accounts.

Police internal affairs chief Insp. Gen. Supriyadi will no longer be handling the high-profile cases as he will be trading places with the head of police telecommunications, Insp. Gen. Yusuf Manggabarani.

Police Academy director Insp. Gen. Ba'asyir Barmawi will take over the Human Resources Department's top post from Insp. Gen. Winarto Adi, who has been given a nonportfolio job. Ba'asyir will be replaced by Insp. Gen. Primanto, a staffer at the Police Staff and Command School.

South Kalimantan Police chief Brig. Gen. Sudibyo will trade positions with Brig. Gen. Bambang Hendarso from the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas).

The transfer of duties will be conducted on Friday. -- JP
