Reading the article ""Tsunami baby turns one, but no party"" by your reporter (The Jakarta Post, Tuesday, Dec. 27), I was surprised by the paragraph that stated that ""While children in Jakarta celebrate birthdays in upmarket hotels, at special McDonald's playroom areas with friends and relatives or at American chain ice cream and cake shops, ...""
This statement could be very provocative to some people who don't know about people in Jakarta, but anyone who knows anything about Jakarta would certainly agree that this statement is very far from the truth.
As the biggest English-language newspaper in Indonesia, you should be able to do better editorial job and be able to deliver unbiased information.
