BTN profits up 13.24 percent

JAKARTA: State Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) recorded a 13.24 percent growth in its unaudited profit last year, despite the general economic slowdown in the country.
The bank's profit before taxes increased to Rp 419 billion (US$45.5 million) last year from Rp 370 billion in 2004, the bank's director, Kodradi, said Friday.
BTN's total assets increased to Rp 29.3 trillion in 2005, with total loans reaching Rp 15.36 trillion.
Kodradi said home loans accounted for about 90 percent of total lending. He expressed hope the bank would be able to extend about Rp 6 trillion in home loans this year. (01)
