TANGERANG: Eight men, one of them armed with a gun, robbed an Indomaret mini market Wednesday on Jl. Maulana Hasanuddin in Kunciran, Tangerang.

They made off with Rp 3 million from the cash box, five boxes of cigarette packs and two cell phones belonging to mini market employees.

The robbers, who left in a Kijang minivan, locked the five employees in the storage room.

Cipondoh Police chief Comr. Harlin Pangaribuan said it was the first armed robbery on his turf in years.

""Most of the cases we handle are motorcycle theft. We are looking for any clues left behind by the robbers,"" he said. -- JP
