RI to get Rp 7.2t loan from Japan

JAKARTA: Japan plans to give Indonesia US$796 million (Rp 7.2 trillion) worth of loan assistance to support Indonesia's economic and social development projects.

Japanese Embassy official Masafumi Kuroki notified Foreign Affairs Ministry Asia-Pacific affairs director-general Primo Alui Joelianto of the decision Tuesday, the embassy said in a statement.

Projects to be financed with the loan include the Rp 2.07 trillion construction of the Tanjung Priok access road in North Jakarta, the Rp 2.15 trillion development of a hydroelectric power plant in Asahan, North Sumatra, and the Kamojang geothermal power plant extension project worth Rp 77 billion in West Java.

Other projects include training for officials in public policy. --JP
