Family members of Siti Pandera Wanggai, the mother of four-year-old Anike, who is currently in Australia with her father who is seeking asylum there, flew Sunday to Jakarta to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The four family members -- Nicolas Wanggai, Marvin Wangga, Jerry Wanggai and Jack Muabuay -- decided to go to Jakarta to meet the President and Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda despite the fact that Siti has been missing since Tuesday.

Nicolas said he believed that Siti may have been kidnapped.

Nicolas said Siti was so excited when she met acting Papua Governor Soadjuangon Situmorang, who agreed to arrange a meeting with the President to ask for help to get her child back.

""I think Siti was very hopeful about getting her child back after meeting the Papuan governor,"" he said at the Sentani Airport before flying to Jakarta. -- JP
