SBY to meet ASEAN VIPs

JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will meet Thursday with members of the ASEAN Eminent Persons Group at Tampaksiring Palace, Bali, a presidential spokesman says.

Dino Patti Djalal said Monday Yudhoyono would host a lunch to pay tribute to the group, which was established to set up recommendations for the ASEAN Charter, which will be presented at a conference later this year in Cebu, the Philippines.

The 10-strong group is led by Tan Sri Musa Hitam of Malaysia. Indonesia is represented by former foreign minister Ali Alatas. --JP
