CNOOC starts gas supply to PLN plant

JAKARTA: CNOOC South East Sumatra (SES), a subsidiary of Chinese oil and gas firm CNOOC, together with six other production sharing contractors (PSC), has begun delivering gas to state electric company PT PLN's 750-megawatt (MW) power plant in Cilegon, West Java, through an 85-kilometer submarine pipeline.
CNOOC SES will supply 50 billion British thermal units (BBTU) of gas per day during the first year, and expects to deliver 80 BBTU per day afterwards.
The company's partners include Inpex Sumatera Ltd, KNOC Sumatera Ltd, Orchard Energy Sumatra BV, Fortuna Resources (Sunda) Ltd, Talisman UK (Southeast Sumatera) Ltd, Talisman Resources (Bahamas) Ltd, CNOOC said in a statement. -- JP
