JAKARTA: The diplomatic community in Jakarta will soon lose one of its senior most members. Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia Gyorgy Busztin will soon return to his country after the completion of his tenure in Jakarta.
""I will be going back to Budapest very soon, because my tenure as an ambassador has finished in Jakarta,"" Ambassador Busztin told The Jakarta Post recently.
Busztin, who submitted his credentials to then president Megawati Soekarnoputri on Nov. 21, 2001, has already began bidding farewell to his friends.
Busztin, who speaks fluent Indonesian, met Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono recently at the latter's office to bid farewell.
""I hope Minister Juwono will visit my country in the near future,"" said Busztin.
During his almost five-year stay, Busztin has tried to improve the relations between Indonesia and Hungary. -- JP
