Teacher arrested for raping student

JAKARTA: A teacher was apprehended by East Jakarta Police at his house in Klender following a report filed by the parents of one of his students who claimed that he had raped their daughter.

The suspect, Ahmad Komaen alias Deni, 25, is a teacher at state elementary school SD N 09 Cipinang Indah I. He is accused of having nonconsensual sex his student, identified only as D, 11.

A relative of the victim said a medical examination showed that there were bruises on D's genitalia.

""D's physical condition is improving but her mother is still shocked,"" he said as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.

Earlier, D's parents because suspicious when their daughter would came home late every Sunday. They also found love letters signed by the teacher.

""The teacher gave her a mobile phone as proof of his love,"" said the relative who asked for anonymity.

In the questioning with the police, Deni confessed that he and D had had sex four times but said the relationship was based on love.

""We usually go on an outing to Ancol first and then we stay at Hotel Mega Matra in Matraman,"" he said. --JP
