Sampoerna pays out Rp 540 dividend

JAKARTA: Publicly listed cigarette producer company, PT HM Sampoerna will pay a cash dividend totaling Rp 540 per share for 2005.

The dividend amount approved during the company's annual shareholders meeting on Friday included the interim dividend of Rp 340 paid in October and the final dividend of Rp 200 which would be paid to shareholders registered on July 5, at the latest.

The shareholders also approved the appointment of Yos Ginting as the company's director of human resources replacing Edward Harvey Frankel. The meeting also agreed to name Phang Cheow Hock as the company's independent commissioner to head the Audit Committee replacing Louis Suwarna.

The company, acquired by Philip Morris International May last year, gained Rp 24.7 trillion in consolidated sales in 2005, an increase of 39.7 percent from the previous year, with net profit rising by 19.6 percent to Rp 2.4 trillion in 2005. (08)
