To help promote environmental conservation, the Hyatt Regency Bandung has set up an Energy Saving Committee, which will be specially assigned to tightly monitor all forms of energy use in the hotel located on Jl. Sumatra, Bandung.
Arifin Darmawan, General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Bandung, said the establishment of the team was part of its commitment to keep evaluating every act that may affect the environment.
""The monitoring includes, among others, the use of tissue paper, chemicals that may pollute the environment and also the efficient use of water and electricity,"" he said.
The observance of International Environment Day on June 5, he went on to say, was not only the momentum needed to reinforce the commitment of this five-star hotel's management but to also encourage the community to conserve the environment.
""In the next few years, unless we efficiently use our present energy resources, we will surely suffer from an energy crisis,"" he said. Moreover, the efficient use of energy, Arifin said, would also mean a reduction in the hotel's operational costs. -- JP
