Body of woman found in gutter

JAKARTA: An unidentified woman was found dead Saturday in a one-meter deep gutter in Jl. Teluk Gong Raya, Pejagalan, North Jakarta.
Supardi, 39, said residents had started to complain about a horrible smell coming from the gutter.
""I thought it was the smell of a dead rat, but when I opened the plank covering the gutter, I saw a human hand,"" he said.
The remains were of a woman approximately 20 years old.
The body was sent to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Central Jakarta, for autopsy.
The preliminary police report concluded the woman died of physical abuse. -- JP
