Singapore Airlines disappoints

Singapore Airlines has launched a promotion for booking via the Internet with a 15 percent discount, but while I was once a proud Krisflyer member I have decided to forget any idea of good service.

I booked a ticket through the Internet for June 20, returning June 24, but later owing to family matters I wanted to change the date of return from June 24 to 23. I thought it would not be a problem because my departure was still some time away.

But oddly, Singapore Airlines replied that the reservation could not be changed because it was booked through the Internet. If any change was to be made, the discount would not be valid. More strangely, I was fined $100 for the cancellation.

A disclaimer should have been made in the beginning for Internet booking. Why should one book via the Internet if it turns out to be a disappointment? Singapore Airlines' claim of providing customer-oriented service is now over.
